I don’t think so. The PS2’s hardware is very old by today’s standards, and games like GTA IV are impossible for the PS2 to handle. Video game developers might continue releasing PS2 counterparts of next-generation games, but they would have to cut out a lot of material or tone down the graphics, sounds etc. That said, I don’t think that the PS2, in terms of hardware, can compete with next-gen consoles, especially the Xbox 360 and the PS3.
