Can ProtxL Filters be used for other applications?
ProtxL By-Pass Filters are designed to be used in all applications where virtually any type of oil is used. i.e. engine crankcases, hydraulic systems, gear cases, system reservoirs or any other hot oil applications. Different techniques are used for connecting the ProtxL By-Pass oil filters for different applications. The ProtxL By-Pass filter is normally connected to pressure side of the engine oil gallery, but in the case of very large engines or turbines with largeoil volumes or engines that have dry sumps, a ProtxL filtration system can be supplied with its own pumping capability. The benefit of the latter is that the filter system can still operate whilst the equipment is not in operation. Hydraulic systems can be connected from the pressure circuit to the ProtxL By-Pass filter system via a pressure reducing valve. Alternatively and not to disrupt circuitry, an independent pump can supply lube oil to the ProtxL system. The benefit of the latter is that the bypass filter system can
