Can Process Advisor be used along with the SEI approach?
Absolutely! Many companies use Process Advisor as a first step in their software process improvement activities, fully intending to apply the SEI assessment and CMM once they’ve gotten their house in order. Process Advisor helps them to put things in order. Others use Process Advisor after an SEI assessment to help in the planning of those activities that will lead to improved process maturity. Still others have no intention of doing an SEI assessment. They use Process Advisor in conjunction with the CMM to help develop an effective process for software work.
