Can printers print more than one kind of barcode?

Yes, they can.  If you are asking about thermal transfer printers… the bar codes that can be printed depend on the software you have.  For many thermal transfer printers such as handheld printers made Brother, Kroy and K-Sun the bar code software is built into the printer.  So when you are selecting a printer you need to be sure to get a printer that includes the bar codes you need.   Other types of printers, such as DuraLabel, use a PC to create labels and can print any bar code that you have on your PC.  So if you need a bar code that did not come with the printer, that bar code font can be purchased, installed on the PC and used with the printer.

Thermal barcode label printers support multiple symbologies. General-purpose laser and inkjet printers and software applications may not be able to natively print any bar codes or may not offer multiple symbologies. Printer specifications list symbologies that are supported.
