Can power cuts damage a computer?

Normally this won’t do any damage at all, although intermittent power can stress the electronics. If you are at all concerned about losing data in the event of a power cut (and if you intend to have paying clients then you should be), buying an uninterruptible power supply is a must. You can buy these from most of the larger PC suppliers, and they will provide sufficient backup power to keep the computer going while you save your files. If your sequencer provides an auto-backup feature, setting this to save every five minutes or so can also be a godsend in the event of a power cut.
