Can poverty create unemployment?
Yes. This can happen when people are too poor to equip themselves for the market place. For example, as an economy modernises and oves away from subsistence farming, poor farmers are unable to send their children to school where they can learn the sklls essential for tomorros’s world; hence the parents’ poverty deprives te children of opportunities and quasi condemns them to unemployment even as they migrate to the cities in serach for work. On a smaller scale, poverty can prevent current people from re-training themselves to remain employable in the current parket place; therefore poverty can create unempoyment today as in if these people lose their current jobs, due to poverty and their inability to re-train themselves, they descend into umrmployment.
