Can potting and tacking be applied on E-Disk drives PowerGuard units?
Potting is done on Stand-Alone PowerGuard® units to enhance performance. Potting refers to the process of encapsulating devices or sensitive circuitry using chemical compounds to provide high levels of stress relief. Its primary function is to protect electronic assemblies and components from adverse environments (shock, vibration, humidity, heat, etc.). Tacking, on the other hand, is applied on Embedded PowerGuard® units. Tacking is the process of putting adhesive tapes and glue to the super capacitors on the board so that these components would not move. The embedded PowerGuard® units of the E-Disk®s use glue in the tacking process.
