Answer Hi I have seen reports where people have substituted the Moss Rose but I would not recommend it. This is from one of the latest reports on plants and herbs to avoid ingesting. PORTULACA (moss rose) Leaves; Flowers- Grandiflora – Plants may contain up to 9.3% oxalates and are known to cause acute oxalate poisoning, this one is dangerous.
