No – subsection 6(6) of the DNA Identification Act prohibits any person who receives a DNA profile for entry in the DNA Data Bank (including the profiles in the Crime Scene Index) from using it or allowing it to be used for purposes other than the administration of the Act. Section 3 of the Act sets out the purpose of the Act as to establish a national DNA data bank to help law enforcement agencies identify persons alleged to have committed designated offences, including those committed before the coming into force of this Act.
