Can Planning Staff tell me the chances of my redesignation / subdivision application being approved?
Only the Council of the Municipal District of Rocky View has the authority to approve or refuse your application in accordance with the appropriate municipal policies and bylaws. Planning Staff can only process your application, and are not in a position to predict its outcome. Based on the outcome of other previous or similar applications, it might or might not be possible for staff to indicate which municipal policies will affect your application one way or the other. The best way to determine the outcome of any given application is to read the Municipal Development Plan (available at our office) and determine whether or not the application is in accordance with municipal policy. A staff preference for a particular option or course of action available to Council may be indicated in the staff report when the application proceeds to Council, but Council is under no obligation to follow it. Council considers each application on its own merits.
