Can PIs applying to the Medical Center Facilitating Fund (MCFF) ask for funds to support effort?
The MCFF will cover effort only for lab technicians and/or research assistants. However it is important for the PI to quantify his/her own effort necessary to complete the project, reflect this in the narrative budget justification, and ask his/her administration to cover it through her department’s budget. On 12/3/09, we replaced the MCFF budget template; see page five of the RFP.
