Can Piemaster Form a Rope Twist Seal?
We can approximate your hand twist design but we can not exactly duplicate it. In most cases, we find that the rope twist style of closure has almost 2 times the dough volume that standard closures have. We call a closure a “crimp”. It is very difficult to match these designs with our machines. It can be done if extra dough is added to crimp area at assembly time. The labor to do this makes the investment prohibitive. We have designed and fabricated a custom crimp seal that simulates a “looks-like finger twist” crimp. Customers who have purchased this design, find the results to be suitable to make their product.
