Can Phoenixs young players provide the veterans ample rest time?
With the emergence of the Los Angeles Lakers, New Orleans Hornets, and Houston Rockets the Phoenix Suns are viewed by many as a team whose championship window has closed. With coach Mike D’Antoni gone and Steve Nash, Grant Hill, and Shaquille O’Neal rapidly approaching the end of their careers the pressure is going to be on their bench to produce. Phoenix has a lot of youth and talent on their bench, but they do not have much time to develop because the Suns need them now if their window is going to stay even slightly open. Robin Lopez and Goran Dragic could be the biggest keys to success for the Suns along with Matt Barnes re-establishing himself. If both of the rookies are ready to play consistently new coach Terry Porter will be allowed to give Nash and O’Neal the rest time needed in order to be healthy come playoff time.
