CAN PHARMACIES USE SCANNED COPIES OF HARD-COPY PRESCRIPTIONS INSTEAD OF THE ACTUAL HARD COPIES FOR RECORD KEEPING PURPOSES?

There are no statutes and code that regulate the usage of scanned prescriptions. Presumably, if the conditions of Ch Phar 7.08 and Phar 7.05(1)(a) and (b) are met, this practice is allowable. Please keep in mind some third parties may not accept photocopies unless they are 2-sided color copies.
