Can person holding tourist visa marry to a green card holder in USA?
you can, but that won’t get you a greencard and permission to live in the US any time soon. The greencard holder can stay, but you will have to leave whenever your tourist visa expires. The greencard holder can sponsor you for a greencard as a spouse, but it will take about 4 years. You cannot wait for the decision in the US. If you can get a tourist visa you can visit, but not stay or work in the US. The greencard holder cannot leave the US for more than one year without a reentry permit and not for more than 2 years with one or the greencard holder will lose his/her greencard. If the greencard holder can apply for citizenship any time in the near future it might be better to wait until the greencard holder is an US citizen. Sponsoring a greencard for a spouse is much faster for a citizen. In order to sponsor anybody a greencard holder as well as a citizen must earn more than the poverty level, so they pretty much have to have a job.
