File sharing (peer-to-peer/P2P) is widely unwanted in the Tor network and exit nodes are configured to block file sharing traffic by default. Tor is not really designed for it and file sharing through Tor excessively wastes everyone’s bandwidth (slows down browsing) and is NOT anonymous! However, there is an alternative anonymising network, which actually WELCOMES file sharing applications and has been designed for them too. If you use it for file sharing instead of Tor, you will help Tor get faster and you will get fast anonymous file sharing. The alternative network is I2P, which is very similar to Tor, but is designed primarily as a fast darknet, friendly to file sharing apps. There are several file sharing applications for I2P, but one of them, iMule, has the advantage of being completely decentralized (unlike the I2P Bit Torrent clients, which currently depend on centralized tracker I2P-sites, whose webmasters censor some content). iMule does not use any edonkey servers; it uses t
