Can people plz answer the following questions about litter in schools?

Our school had a little policy, that worked really well even though the students (like myself) complained about. We had a “clean up roster” and the school was divided up into different areas. Students would nominate the area that they sat in with their friends. The office people would sort out the nominations and make a final list. Each week 5 or so students would be responsible for cleaning their lunch area after the bell went, this rotated so overall 1 student only had to clean the area once a semester. The school was much cleaner after this took place. If students diddnt show up and had no written excuse from another teacher they got a detention (piking up rubbish during lunch) Hope this makes sense, i don’t think i explained it very well but it was a really good policy.
