Can people be helped just by reading a book?
Reading Three Minute Therapy is the first step, but just reading the book will probably NOT be a big help. Beneficial results come from practicing the “Three Minute Exercises.” • This sounds too simplistic to help people with serious problems. The basic idea is a simple one, but scientific studies indicate that it’s quite beneficial, even with severe problems. • What about getting to the childhood origins of your problem? Sigmund Freud and his followers were misguided on this one. Discussing your childhood may be fascinating and gut-wrenching, but unfortunately, it’s very superficial. Instead, a truly deep approach would target the core “musts” that lie at the heart of your problem. It would then enable you to free yourself of your self-destructive thinking and feel good again.
