Can paid employees from other agencies who assist with EFNEP be described as volunteers?
Basic concepts of volunteers: Those who work on Extension activities without remuneration. This would typically be expected to reflect going beyond “just doing their normal jobs.” For instance, teachers who have been trained in the curriculum and are delivering the program are volunteers. Teachers who do advance work or follow up to help implement and strengthen the lessons taught are also volunteers. If the sole involvement is to “allow” EFNEP into the class and turn over all conduct of the class to the EFNEP instructor, this would not likely be appropriate to “count” as a volunteer.
