Can ovulation cause pain in the pelvic area?
Yes ovulation pain is one of the symptoms of ovulation. It occurs as a slight twinge on the side of the lower abdomen. It can be felt on either the left or the right side depending on which ovary is releasing the egg that month. Some women experience severe pain as a result of ovulation and they should be visited by a doctor to rule out other conditions like PCOS, endometriosis, or ovarian cyst.
