Can Ovarian Cysts be dangerous?

0

Please don’t panic. Ovarian cysts are extremely common in women. I was diagnosed with one for the first time a few months ago. I did not require surgery and the doctor was able to treat the cyst by prescribing birth control pills to shrink it. Not every ovarian cyst requires surgery. And they are rarely cancerous. Do not listen to anyone who tells you that if an ovarian cyst goes untreated that it can lead to cancer. That is a ridiculous and ignorant response. And I am amazed at the stupidity that some people will post here in order to receive 2 lousy points. Yes, cysts can be dangerous if they rupture. But you are jumping ahead of yourself. Call your OB/GYN and let him/her know what you are feeling. They will likely send you for an ultrasound to determine if in fact, there is an ovarian cyst present. Take care of yourself, don’t panic and I wish you well.
