Can our health system in the United States handle the surge of patients?
No. A study recently released found that our emergency departments are currently distressed with patients commonly being diverted to other hospitals. A pandemic of this proportion will completely overwhelm the health system as a whole in the United States. Attitudes within the health care community will have to shift from doing everything that we can, to doing the most good for the most people.
