No. OSU employees cannot get the same discounts for personal travel as for official travel. Oregon Revised Statute (ORS) 244.040(1) prohibits public officials from obtaining personal financial gain that would not otherwise be available but for their holding the official position or office. Since the rates offered to OSU for official travel are not available to the public at large, they cannot be offered to OSU employees without violating ORS 244.
