Can organs and tissues be donated for use in research?
Organs and tissues from donors from the Donor Registry are only recovered for the purpose of transplantation. Should information come to light after the recovery procedure to indicate that an organ or tissue is not suitable for transplantation, an effort will be made to place the organ or tissue in an approved research program.
