Can organic farming produce enough to feed the world?
Small farms produce more agricultural output per unit area than large farms, making them more efficient. Recent research shows that, on average, organic crops yield 95% of crops grown under conventional, high-input systems. Organic farmers have developed many of the most innovative and creative techniques in recent agriculture, with little research support from the government or university systems. Feeding the world is not a production issue; its a distribution of wealth issue.
