Can one retain the foreign exchange on the Standard Chartered Bank SmartTravel Card after returning to India?
Ans. Your Standard Chartered Bank SmartTravel Card is valid for 2 years. Funds can be retained in the pre-funded account for the given period. However, balances in excess of $2000 cannot be retained as dollar float as per FEMA regulations. Upon the lapsing of the validity period, the balance amount will be couriered across to the address captured in the system by PO. Refund, however, shall happen only 30 days after return.
