Can one recover from heroin addiction by going cold turkey?
from a recovering heroin addicts perspective: one can recover from heroin by going cold turkey, but I would not recommend going that route becuase it never worked for me or anyone I saw going through heroin withdrawal. You honestly feel as though you are dying when you are going through withdrawal and it usually gets so bad that you are doing absolutly anything in your power to get heroin, methadone, perks, etc… absolutly anything to take away the pain and once you take away the pain you never want to go there again (meaning you never want to stop using). i would say that for anyone truly addicted, you shoould go to rehab and be medically detoxed by professionals. then get on a opiate bloxer like naltraxone.
