Can one fully recover from a persistent vegetative state (PVS)?

I would almost be forced to ask one’s definition of fully recovering… One thing that has been known to happen is someone who has been in “pvs” to have an awakening experience. There was one gentleman who had been in a vegetive state for 20 years and woke up in 2002 or 2003. He has now been awake for over 3 years, however (and here is were your defination of fully revored comes in) he has not gained total control of his functions. He can not move his arms and such. There are other victims who only awoken for a few days or even fora few hours.
