Can older relatives get used to giving gift cards instead of gifts?
Explain to them that there are several pluses to getting gift cards.One-they don’t have to spend a lot of time shopping.Two-this way it makes sure there are no duplicates in what baby gets.Three-it gives the chance for the present to become an annual tradition that the child will appreciate as it grows.And four-the gifts can be spread throughout the year so it is more meaningful.My kids get giftcards from many of their grandparents (we have steps of steps) so they almost look forward to it every year now.This way,they can get what they really want,plus they get the excitement of learning about how to handle money.It also helps that the gift cards all come from walmart…….the kids can combine the totals that way.Now,they have even started asking their dad to do it,especially knowing they can shop online with them as well.A final plus?We make it an annual thing with my mom in law to take all the grandkids shopping with her gift cards.She gets the delight in watching the kids,they get
