Yes, NRIs can invest in domestic mutual funds on repatriation basis. They can also invest in mutual funds floated by public and private sector mutual funds on non-repatriation basis by giving a separate application to RBI. There is no separate approval required for the same. Likewise, they can also invest in Money Market Mutual Funds floated by commercial banks and other financial institutions. There is no separate approval required for the same.
