Can NOT getting spark plugs replaced cause serious engine damage?

Sounds like an excuse to cop out of warranty, firstly spark plugs do not fail just over the service threshold or they would have massive warnings printed on the packaging, if you have a problem with warranty work and they are using the excuse that a spark plug caused the damage, write (recorded delivery) to the spark plug manufacturer and ask their opinion. If you are a member of the AA or AAA then get them involved as they have legal, and servicing experts at your disposal but this is typical behaviour of a main agent. Its a bit strange that the word agent is derived from the Latin word agere, meaning to do, one thing about main agents is they do their level best,NOT to do, unless you are paying a huge amount of money for the privilege. I am at this moment driving a Ford Fiesta that I took in part exchange (Zetec engine) and the plugs have not been changed for 20,000 miles (two years) I hope that puts this in perspective.
