Can negative emotions (anger, guilt , fear,etc) actually be channeled to a more positive way?
The answer is yes. The Egyptian people used basic components of anger management to change Egypt and world in 18 day. This is awesome. The Egyptians used self-awareness, self-control, social awareness and relationship to gain freedom for all of its citizens.
Dr. Martin Luther King and Mahatma Ganhdi used the same tools to gain independence for India and Civil Rights for African Americans.
I dont think it helps to juts try to change them as they are indicators of introjects old and ineffective ways of thinking that need careful weeding out making sure that you have all the roots – If you just take the tops off they grow again. These are not negative emotions we need all our anger guilt and fear in the appropriate situations. They are only negative if overused using a sledgehammer to crack a nut. As Arnold Mindell said your worst symptom is your greatest friend because it is telling you what needs bringing into balance. When you look under the feelings that you don t like and delve into whys and wherefores – you will find a lot of skewey thinking keeping it in its inappropriate place then it takes a while to retrain your habits but it well worth doing .
yes they can but it depends on the personality angers easy almost anyone who is angry will be more driven to do things (may make mistakes more) to respond to guilt you have to be a driven person and want to change what happened to make it into a will to change things fear is what makes people into heros if there was nothing to fear being strong in the face of adversity wouldn’t mean as much, fear pushes you forwards if you can face it.
