Can navigation be started immediately after installation?
After you have connected the device, the vehicle must be placed out in the open so that satellite reception is ensured. GPS Satellite Data (Almanacs) have to be downloaded to the unit. This is an automated procedure. With the Navigation Radio switched on and without the Navigation CD inserted, this process is displayed on the screen and takes about 15 to 20 minutes. If this process doesn’t start within the first 5 minutes, it is recommended to change the vehicle position and/or the installation of the GPS antenna. Then the Navigation CD has to be inserted to load the Navigation Software. Wait until the information “Calibration ride can start” appears in the display. Then, drive the vehicle on roads until the address input mode appears in the display. See also Calibration Guide.
