Can Naturtint be used if the customer has suffered severe allergic reactions to other hair color in the past?
Allergic reactions vary and a skin sensitivity test must be carried out at least 48 hours before application. Naturtint Permanent Hair colorant is hypallergenic and has been dermatologically tested but in rare cases, reactions can occur. If the customer has previously experienced redness and itching as a result of previous hair colorants then Naturtint Permanent Hair Colorant is, in most cases, gentle enough and will not provoke any reaction on the skin test. Once the skin test has been successfully completed, the product may be applied. However, if the customer experiences swelling, blistering and/or burning then it is likely that they are allergic to PPD’s and a skin test will immediately demonstrate this – if so then the product must not be applied. In these cases, we recommend the use of Naturtint Reflex Shine on Color Rinses.
