Can Nansulate® be applied to a coated pine ceiling?

0

We would recommend testing a small area of the coated pine ceiling first for adhesion, and to make sure that the coating that is currently on the ceiling is compatible with water-based acrylic latex coatings. After you have applied three coats (approximately 1-2 hours between each) to a small test area and allowed to dry for 72 hours, if the coatings appears to be adhering well, then there should be no compatibility issues. If you note any peeling, then the underlying coating would need to be removed prior to applying Nansulate® HomeProtect Clear Coat. Q: Can Nansulate be applied to bare sheetrock, or does a primer need to be applied first? A: Yes, Nansulate® can be painted onto the bare sheetrock as long as it is clean and completely dry. We would recommend Nansulate® HomeProtect Clear Coat for this application.
