Can N2O identify other objects that are, or will be, affected by object changes and generate change impact analyses? Will it simulate the change function prior to activation?
N2O utilizes PREDICT cross-reference information to provide program dependency information during a migration. This information identifies whether programs about to be migrated affect other modules or require other modules for a successful recompile. Impacted programs may optionally be added to the migration. N2O includes a cross-reference report to determine the programs affected by, or invoked by, a specified program. This information is available prior to making a migration request. In addition, N2O scans PREDICT information in the environment that is the target of a migration, and determines if modules already existing in the target environment (which are not part of the migration) should be recompiled to reflect changes in the programs being migrated into the environment.
