Can my work experience and training be considered in order to waive some of my pre-requisite courses for my Master’s Degree?
Unfortunately, experiential work is not regionally accredited and thus cannot be used to waive courses. “Awarding of this credit will be based solely on experiential learning that is part of a formal agreement between the University and another regionally accredited educational institution or certifying agency licensed by the State of Texas to provide professional certifications, which have historically been limited to universities. The formal agreement shall require the approval of the departmental faculty, the academic dean, the graduate dean, and the provost, and will comply with the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.” This information can be found in the Graduate Catalog.
