Can my wife start school during a divorce?

I think Missie has given the best answer here. I don’t think that your wife can be prevented from enrolling in school but it seems your question is really more about whether you’ll get stuck paying for any of it. Maybe she applied for financial aid? Either way, as Missie mentioned, if the wheels are in motion with the courts, there has to be a cut off date for severing your finances. Perhaps you could consider the positive outcome of her enrollment. Her involvement in school may help her (and you) get through the divorce by providing a distraction. It will also provide her with the confidence she’ll need if she aspires to get a job in the future. Update: Having been through all of this before, there is a lot of distrust during a divorce. As hard as it may be to hold in your emotions, you’ll come out better off if you can remain calm. Some of the dumbest moves people make are in haste and usually packed with emotions. You just end up shooting yourself in the foot.
