Can my TV remote control be used with the Infrared Drive ?

Not really. This is not a practical use of the Infrared Drive. The Infrared Drive adheres to the IrDA standard. IrDA does not use a 40KHz modulated carrier. Also, IrDA basically shortens the pulse widths coming out of a UART to save energy. The range for IrDA only requires one meter plus or minus 15 degrees. Basically, IrDA was designed to not interfere with remote control devices rather than to be a remote control device. Some Linux driver does exist to make the Infrared Drive emulate the way IR remote works, We do not provide technical support for such operation.
