Can my state place additional requirements on a pesticide product?
EPA and the states work together to enforce FIFRA. While the EPA generally controls the labeling of products, the states may set regulations over and above what the federal EPA requires. Modec, Inc., the manufacturer of MDF-500, will subregister the product in all the states where the product will be used. Subregistration of a product is the responsibility of the manufacturer. After Modec, Inc. subregisters MDF-500 with a state, applicators cancheck with their state to learn of any additional requirements connected with application of the product. Most states enforce FIFRA through the State Department of Agriculture.
