Dogs are perfectly designed to eat bones. But NOT cooked ones. That changes the structure of the bone and it will splinter and can cause injuries. Raw bones are actually quite soft, and DO NOT splinter. They are even a bit squishy. They break in chunks. But if you look in your dog’s mouth you will see where the molars would be very pointy interlocking sharp looking teeth. Those are for cracking bones and shearing meat. Raw meaty bones are perfect for a dog to eat. You don’t want to give the big weight bearing bones like legs from a cow because they can break teeth, but a whole chicken is wonderful. But again, NOT COOKED. The whole hysteria about bones and dogs is that people tend to feed cooked bones. Raw bones are good. You don’t see wolves dropping dead from their diet do you? It would be silly for them to be created to eat a diet that would kill them, wouldn’t it? I wouldn’t ever go to a vet for pet nutrition.
