Can my Pontiac Torrent tow my husbands Pontiac Grand Am?
My Torrent is the 2006 model All Wheel Drive and his is a 2003 Grand Am. I need to get both cars to Washington D.C. My brother in law wants to try and tow it there so we can be in the same car and take turns driving so that we can get there with the least amount of days and spending the least amount of money on gas. If the Torrent can’t tow it, then we’ll just drive in both cars at the same time out there…Ughhh, this is a mission! A: From your distain of wanting to drive that far it sounds like you don’t live too close to Washington D.C., right? Either way I am going to advise, you even though you don’t want to, to not tow the Grand Am with the Torrent. Although the Torrent is larger, it was never ment to pull anything of that size. The problem is that it causes huge stresses on the internal components of your vehicle, especially your transmission and suspension. Perhaps you can find another alternative. Good Luck.
