The K/D does not contain sufficient protein for a growing kitten, so NO – it is not a healthy diet for her. I would suggest feeding them in two separate rooms, behind closed doors. Your adult cat will soon learn to eat her food more quickly. There isn’t much else you can do when cats need to be fed two such totally different things. Re. the low protein debate for cats with compromised kidneys – it’s not just an internet ‘hoax’ that K/D may not be an appropriate food for cats with kidney issues (unless they are in late-stage kidney failure). Many vets now believe it’s the QUALITY of the protein, not the QUANTITY that is important, along with low levels of phosphorus, and lots of water. What that translates into is a canned diet free of by-products and crap, (these are hard on the kidneys).
