Can my husband have his unemployment benefits direct-deposited into my checking account if hes not on it?

I would think so. You don’t need to be on someone’s account to deposit $$. My dad deposits cash into my account from time to time even when I’m not there. So why would a check be any different, after all your his wife, but even if you were a complete stranger, he’s giving you money, not stealing it, so idt you need to be on account. When he signs his direct deposit form with your checking info he is theoretically signing over his checks to you. I would still double check with your bank to be on the safe side, but i don’t see why not.

That’s a general question. Depends on the state/county. Remember this is GOVERNMENT money. They are tight with their rules. I’d still say 99% of the time NO. It cannot be re-directed to another account. Since welfare now sends the unemployment money directly to the unemployed persons OWN account through Wells Fargo Bank. They then send the person a Visa debit card for making any transactions and or withdrawing money.

As far as I know he can. My husband isn’t listed on my account, but he gets his paychecks and his IRS tax income goes there too.
