You mean diesel. DERV = diesel engined road vehicle. Heating oil is just diesel with some colour and less tax. Read the middle section of this page. He better not get caught though… Edit: Farmers run their agricultural vehicles on red diesel – they are allowed to. They buy it in bulk and run their heating, tractors, combine harversters etc. They often run their cars and 4x4s on it too, naughty devils!
