Can my employees continue to select any provider as a treating doctor?
A. Depends. If the employer contracts with an insurance carrier for the provision of health care services through a network, the injured worker must select a treating doctor from the list of available treating doctors in that network.. However, network doctors do not have to be on the Division’s ADL to provide treatment. If there is not a network in place, the only requirement is that the doctor must be on the Approved Doctors’ List (ADL), which is in effect until September 1, 2007. Doctors who have been removed from the ADL or denied admission to the ADL prior to 9-1-07, will not be allowed to provide health care for injured employees in the workers’ compensation system.
