The Town recognizes that qualifications are acquired through varied means, such as education, work experience and specialized training. Some positions do not allow substitutions. Where possible, the following substitutions may apply: • Substitution of Education and Experience One year of relevant experience that provides the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the position duties may be substituted for one year of required education One year of relevant education, that provides the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the position duties, at the undergraduate level may be substituted for one year of required relevant experience. Pertinent volunteer experience, which can be documented in hours, may be credited toward work experience.
