Can my autistic child have free prescriptions for gluten-free products like the people with coealiac disease?
Gluten free products should not be given to anyone who is not coealiac, as the lack of gluten will adjust and mess about with the normal function of the body. My sister has been diagnosed since she was 5months old and my sons are actually being tested for this at the minute as my oldest who had a.d.h.d and o.d.d has lost alot of weight and looks chalk white all the time. With him having a.d.h.d i was trying to cut out everything as i possibly could in his diet to help him and i thought about the gluten well he wasn`t as hyper because of the bread he was eating without gluten and i spoke to his doc at the hospital who told me about making the body allergic to gluten if i kept him on a gluten free diet and that i was not to continue with this as it would cause more harm than good. But as i said i had just tried the bread to see if certain foods affected him.
