Can my application be presented to the user in any language and character set?

An application written over Renaissance can support most commonly used (left to right) languages since all the elements of the page are held in translatable tables on the System i. The Framework itself provides maintenance routines for all the translatable elements. Latin1 encoding is used to ensure most Indo-European character sets can be supported (our applications are based in English and German). Renaissance supports the creation of “Locales” and these can be associated with users. So some of your users can use German, others Spanish and others English (assuming all the translations are in place). The programmer does not have to care about the user’s locale when he/she writes an application.
