Can my 2 mitsubishi lancer take e85?
There are no Mitsubishi models that can use E85 You may or may not get away with using it once. But if you try to use it all the time, you WILL cause some very expensive damage to your fuel system. The $1000+ you will spend in repairs will quickly offset any savings you will have from purchasing this fuel. There are no conversion kits to use E85. Any kit would require a new fuel pump, ethanol percentage sensor for the fuel tank, new fuel lines, new fuel injectors, new oxygen sensor(s), and a new engine management computer to make the needed ignition and fuel / air mixture changes for ethanol. Any conversion kit would require that the vehicle run at least as clean as it does in unleaded fuel. Because the conversion kits generally made the engines run dirtier, the EPA had them taken off the market. There are currently no E85 conversion kits certified by the EPA. See the third link.
